I worked on CSIRO Space Industry News for most of 1996, during which time time I became Editor, and all of 1997. With the formation of the Cooperative Reseach Centre for Satellite Systems at the start of 1998, many CSIRO assets including SpIN migrated to the CRCSS. SpIN was renamed CRCSS Space Industry News but the numbering sequence continued. I was Managing Editor for its entire 5-year existence.

CRCSS Space Industry News became a widely circulated and quoted news magazine representing the entire Australian space industry.

I provide the following archive below because the CRCSS broke its promise to me that it would preserve in perpetuity the online versions of SpIN and the rest of my work. The archive below is a poor remnant of the comprehensive web version I maintained before I left the CRCSS, consisting of over 500 separate web pages. All that work is now lost. Eventually I will restore it but that will take a massive amount of work. I reconstructed the following PDF files from the layout files I originally used to create SpIN , but since I only designed SpIN from issue 78 on, I do not have the files available for CSIRO Space Industry News. Since they are reconstructions, small but tolerable formatting errors sometimes occur.

This archive would not be necessary if the CRCSS had kept its promise, but also I think some online presence is better than none. The CRCSS always allowed anyone to reproduce SpIN providing the CRCSS copyright was acknowledged.

The magazine was originally a quarterly publication but towards the end the CRCSS extended its frequency to save money.

I will expand this archive in future to include detailed contents and retore the original 500+ separate pages.
